71st REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
The 71st Republic Day Celebration at D.A.V.School was a jubilant function reminiscing the founding fathers of the Indian Constitution. Like every year, it was a grand fanfare of cultural events, drills, band display and patriotic speeches and most important of all the March Past by the students of V std. The event, anchored by students of XI std. Preetish Narayan & Yogini, was presided by Chief Guest, Shri Rajesh Ramaswamy, V.P. COGNIZANT Technology Solutions. In his speech, he appreciated the show put up by the students of D.A.V.School and rendered an inspiring speech asking students to strive for success and achieve great heights in their lives. He was all in appreciation of the speeches delivered by the students of grade X in English, Tamil and Hindi. The Principal Smt. J.Geetha , in her speech welcoming the Chief Guest, emphasized on the remarkable constitution given by its architects. The welcome dance by the girls of the school, was a fusion of various dance forms of Tamil Nadu. The students of II std. enchanted the audience with their Mass Drill using fans as property. The Mass Drill combining Aerobics presented by the boys of VIII std not only set everyone’s feet tapping but also cast their spell with wands as property. The band display by the students was at par with ‘Beating the Retreat’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the winners of various sports events held for students, teachers as well as the non-teaching staff during the year. The show concluded with Vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal Smt. K.V.Pramila followed by the national anthem.
